June 28th, 2008 - I was the wedding photographer for another Shannon this past weekend! As some of you know, my wife & I have the same first name, Shannon. This is one of the main reasons I prefer to go by just “Porter”. But the bride’s name was Shannon and one of the bridesmaid’s names was Shannon as well!!

But anyways, last weekend’s wedding was once again another fun wedding to be a part of. The bridal/wedding party was huge - the more the merrier, I say! - and a good time was had by all. For pictures, we started out at Crucifixion Church in La Crescent, MN and after the wedding ceremony, we stopped at a few different locations for some more fun wedding photos. But before I get ahead of myself, let’s start out with a preview of some of their wedding photography from their wedding day!

They started out by staging a “first glimpse” of each other as we planned to get most of the formal wedding pictures done prior to the ceremony. Here we have Jon checking out his lovely, soon-to-be wife, Shannon…

After getting through the wedding party formals, it allowed me to have some time with just the two of them before we started with the family portrait formals. The church has two staircases near the back of the church that caught my eye and I like how the lines in this enhanced photo draws your eyes to Shannon & Jon…

They even brought their cute little puppy for some photos as well…

While waiting for the guests to be seated before the wedding ceremony, I found Shannon trying to get a peek at who was arriving from her dressing room window in this enhanced photo…

The weather managed to rain a little bit during photos, but for the ceremony, the sun was shining bright! Here’s a great shot of her wedding dress while waiting with her bridesmaids waiting outside before entering the church for the ceremony…

The wedding went as planned and during the receiving line, Shannon’s brother (with an usher & a few guests) were having a blast making a sign for the back of the bus…

We then proceeded the lookout above La Crescent, which overlooks the Mississippi River valley, along with the clouds in the bright blue sky, made for a great portrait location…

After leaving the lookout, we headed to Hokah, MN where Jon was a volunteer firefighter. It made for some great themed pictures too! Everyone had a great time from all the smiles I saw…

It was then off to Caledonia, MN where the reception was held. Here’s a picture of the Best Man getting the better of Jon during “the kiss” while Shannon was visiting with guests..
