Just one week before Rachel & Ryan’s wedding, I shot the wedding for a sibling of one of my previous clients from two years ago. Rachel is the sibling of and was a bridesmaid in Shannen & Nick’s wedding in La Crosse, WI. Once again, it truly is a pleasure for me to see past clients & their families come together and share their love for those two people in love.
I first met Rachel & Ryan at the Villa Louis to start their portraits. The Villa Louis Estate is a vast estate with grounds stretching along the Mississippi River banks in Prairie du Chien. Right in the middle is the massive mansion and outbuildings with a mix of Late Victorian & Italianate styles. Needless to say, it was a beautiful place to start their wedding pictures…

I thought this color treatment was fitting for the image…

They had a bunch of family & friends in their bridal party. They are all truly “good people”. As they say – the more, the merrier!!

As the final guests arrived to the church, the bridesmaids & junior bridesmaids awaited for the start of the ceremony…

The most anticipated part of the ceremony is when you get to see the bride for the first time as she is escorted down the aisle. It’s almost magical in a way…

After the ceremony, we headed towards the river for some more group photos and then after that, we headed to the tavern where Rachel & Ryan had met each other for the very first time. There was all kinds of socializing going on as well as some pool playing…

and some dart throwing…

as well as a kiss where they first sat next to each other on that day in which probably seemed insignificant at the time, but over time – turned into love…

As we arrived to the reception, there was so many different conversations & interactions between everyone there. Good times were being had by all who were in attendance. Ryan and his siblings were treated with a special visit by their grandparents. I feel this photo truly represents those interactions…

A customary toast was shared by everyone during dinner…

After dinner, as we waited for the dance to begin, the guests were having a great time inside & outside. After I was coached on certain “senior portrait poses” and I learned how to “be a tiger”…
; )

Soon after, Rachel & Ryan shared their first dance as husband & wife…

Before long, everyone joined them on the dance floor and proceeded to dance the night away…

Hopefully, I will be able to take you up on your offer to meet up someday, Ryan. I would enjoy that. If you two are ever in the area, look me up. It was great to meet you both again, however for your wedding this time! I wish that all the happiness & love which you shared on that day, grow each and every day you share together!
