August 8th, 2008 – Last year, there was July 7th, 2007 (lucky 7′s), well this year it was August 8th, 2008 – lucky 8′s perhaps!?! This past Friday, I headed to historic town of Lanesboro, Minnesota to meet with my wedding clients to take their wedding portraits all over the picturesque Lanesboro downtown prior to their wedding ceremony. We planned to meet at a nearby park for their “first sight” pictures, as they hadn’t seen each other prior and we went from there…
After a little tap on the shoulder, the expression on Clark’s face was priceless as he saw his beautiful bride, Kristin, for the first time…

These two were all smiles, all day long…

We then headed towards the downtown to take advantage of the beautiful weather and historic backdrops. Theres an old bridge over the Root River, used for the many miles of bike trails, which also made for a perfect backdrop on this enhanced portrait…

While walking together downtown, we came across this storefront sign, which was perfect for the occasion. Check out Clark’s expression!

There was many tourists and locals downtown and I mentioned to them that all eyes would be on them. Its probably not everyday that two people, dressed as they were, are seen around Lanesboro. We had joked around about how the downtown shoot would unfold and I had made the comment that we were going to stop traffic. Check out this traffic stopping kiss in the middle of an intersection which drew applause from all the bystanders…

We went everywhere we possibly could before we had to head to the church for the ceremony. But these two were so lucky to have such a beautiful backdrop for their wedding pictures…

After the formal wedding & family photos, it was almost time for the ceremony. Here’s a glimpse of Kristin’s calla lily bouquet and beautiful dress with bow…

The ceremony was held at a little church, nestled in the rural Minnesota countryside, at the Elstad Lutheran Church. They had chose to have a candlelit service and after lighting their unity candle, the same flame from their candle was passed on, one by one, and lit every guest’s candle. It was a very cool sight to see & witness…

After the ceremony and grand exit to the awaiting limo, we headed to the wedding reception which was held at Visions Event Center at Signatures Restaurant located on the Bridges Golf Club course in Winona, MN. We got a chance to take some more outdoor photos as the sun was setting…

After everyone got a chance to get some food and have a drink (or two), it was time for the speeches & toasts. Here’s a great moment of Kristin & Clark’s response to a comment made by Clark’s father. (you had to be there!)

Next thing you knew, it was time for their first dance. As great as all first dances are – theirs was no different. It was also sealed with a kiss…

Such a beautiful day, with a beautiful wedding, beautiful locations and a beautiful couple in love. It doesn’t get any better or beautiful than that. Thank you, Kristin & Clark, for allowing to be a part of your beautiful wedding as your wedding photographer. I wish you both the best!
