June 7th, 2008 - The first wedding of the weekend was held in La Crosse WI at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church for Katie & Richard. There was plenty of smiling faces, laughter and happiness to go around, considering that there was severe weather lurking in the area. The was a little rain, here and there, during and after the wedding ceremony, but it was upon arriving to the wedding reception at Maple Grove Country Club when real weather came into play.
Let’s just say my walk (more like a sprint) to the door from my car left me completely soaked from head to toe. Yes, I had an umbrella. But when there’s approximately 50 mph winds, blowing every single drop of rain in the air because there was a tornado about a mile away from the reception, conveniently at the same exact time I parked my car - you’re bound to get a little wet. I did finally dry off by the time I was done! ; )
But anyways, like I said, the weather didn’t dampen the spirits of Katie & Richard, let alone their bridal party, family and guests. Let’s check out some photos from their beautiful wedding!
Preparation for a wedding is an important part of a wedding day. Without getting ready, the brides and grooms wouldn’t look as sharp as they do! Here’s Katie, with her wonderful bridesmaids, putting on her beautiful wedding dress.

All of the ladies were there to help and Katie’s mom helped her necklace…

The dress was very ornate…

…the flowers were a beautiful bouquet of roses…

… and check out the rings!

Waiting outside for them after the wedding ceremony was Richard’s Ford…

They were all smiles after the wedding!

After the wedding, they headed to Features Sports Bar & Grill, in West Salem, for a pre-celebration drink with the bridal party. They managed to fit in a kiss as they left…

As we left is when the storm moved in and the tornado touched down near Maple Grove Country Club as we arrived. But as soon as it came through, it was gone and the wedding celebration continued!

After the dinner and a little mingling, the dance began with the traditional first dance as husband wife…

All eyes were on them, along with a few who wanted to join them towards the end of their dance…

The dance was sealed with a kiss…

…and Katie & her bridesmaids danced the night away!

It just goes to show that even some of the biggest storms will not prevent true love and I was happy to be a part your wedding as your wedding photographer Katie & Richard. I wish the both of you the best!!!
