August 30th, 2008 – I traveled south along the Mississippi River to St Paul’s Lutheran church in La Crosse, WI to photograph the wedding of Jennifer & Brian. Such a great couple and wedding to photograph. They chose not to see each other prior to the wedding and so I started with Jennifer and the bridesmaids as Jennifer was getting ready. I usually try to describe each wedding I shoot, but on this day of wedding photography, the pictures really do tell the story so I’ll let them do the talking…

Each bridesmaid signed Jennifer’s shoe for good luck…

I took a few bridal portraits of Jennifer before checking in on what the Brian & the guys were doing…

So what were the guys doing? Take a guess.

What else does a groom do when getting ready for his wedding?

He shoots hoops….

It was time for the wedding ceremony and here’s Jennifer’s brother & father seeing her for the first time…

The ceremony was beautiful and when it was done, Jennifer was so cute as she gave a little “bouquet pump” in the air. As they left the church, the wedding party threw rose pedals…

We headed up Grandad’s Bluff, which overlooks La Crosse, and stopped at the Alpine Inn for some drinks before arriving at the Radisson Hotel for the wedding reception. Before entering, we walked over to Riverside Park for some creative portraits of Jennifer & Brian. These two made my job as a wedding photographer easy. See for yourself…

As the wedding reception began, there was a real fun grand entrance and shortly afterwards, they began with the toasts & traditional wedding speeches. Brian had two best men and their speeches had plenty of laughs for not only Brian, but for the crowd as well…

Before the dance started, Jennifer & Brian snuck out with me to take advantage of a little break in the action as well as beautiful evening light in downtown La Crosse…

We headed back to the wedding reception and the dance started with a beautiful first dance “under the stars”…

and then the dance floor opened up to everyone…

Now I can’t leave without mentioning their DJ for the reception, Bob Viking. He was a blast! If you weren’t there, I’ll leave it up to you to wonder about these two things.

It was just a beautiful wedding to be the wedding photographer for and there was so much love throughout the whole day.
