The first wedding of my double-header wedding weekend two weeks ago was in La Crosse, WI at Pettibone Resort. Not only was there a marriage happening, but there was a family being formed. You see on Mother’s Day, Jordan proposed to Amber while they were on a walk in the woods with Amber’s 4 year old daughter. He not only asked her to be his wife – he also turned to Amber’s daughter and asked her if he could marry her mommy. That’s beautiful. Equally beautiful, they now share another daughter together – cute as can be at 8 months old. So not only was I shooting a wedding, but I was witness to a family of four become one.
When I arrived, Jordan was already at Pettibone Resort with his groomsmen waiting for Amber to arrive with her bridesmaids…

As guests were being seated on the outdoor patio for their ceremony, Amber arrived and sneaked inside. That was when she and her brother saw each other for the first time. He was walking Amber down the aisle. It was a moving moment for them both…

As Amber fought through some nerves right before the ceremony, her daughter came in to check out the action and give her a kiss…

And as I noticed right away, you can definitely tell that they are mother and daughter! See for yourself!! What do you think?

As the ceremony began, after the groomsmen escorted each bridesmaid one by one, Jordan could not keep himself from smiling at his beautiful bride…

Instead of lighting a unity candle, they chose to have a unity sand ceremony to represent not only their marriage but the union of their family. After the ushers carried the sand vases up to the altar – Amber & Jordan, along with their two daughters, combined the sand into one.

After the ceremony, in between family portraits, Jordan gave his daughter a little kiss. How could one resist?!?

After family portraits on the patio overlooking the backwaters of the Mississippi River, the bridal party prepared to board the limo bus to head downtown for a bit. I love the softness of this photo as Amber was getting her dress bustled…

While on the bus, Amber showed me a little surprise of her own!

One of our stops was at Riverside Park for some group portraits. While waiting for everyone to board the bus, I spotted a perfect place for a portrait of Amber as a beautiful bride…

Being in downtown La Crosse, with your wedding party, you gotta stop for a least one celebratory shot…

…which can lead to good times and bridesmaids arm-wrestling!

As we arrived back to Pettibone Resort for the wedding reception, Amber was treated with sweet little gifts of clover flowers & dandelions from her daughter…

Before they had their first dance, they both shared some time with their youngest daughter on the dancefloor. You can never be too young to get down!

The intimacy of a first dance can be so powerful. They’re one of my favorite times of the wedding day…

I had a wonderful time capturing your wedding day, Amber & Jordan. May you share & teach the love you have to your daughters and may you never forget the love you felt on July 17th, 2009 for the rest of your lives!

Porter, , words could not express how happy we are with your work! When I saw these for the first time I teared up. It was like I was re – living my wedding day all over again. It was bittersweet when the day came to an end, but looking back at these pictures they take us right back to all of those moments, some of the best moments of our lives. Thank you so much,
Jordan and Amber Irons
