I’ll be providing wedding photographer services for a few hours in Winona, MN for today’s wedding at Living Light Church near St. Mary’s University of Minnesota. Once again, it appears that the weather may be a factor for some outdoor photos. So far, so good - as its just overcast skies now and it sounds like there’s a chance for rain later this evening, after I’m done at the wedding.

I’m crossing my fingers (again) that the rain stays away so we can create some nice wedding photos, inside and outside! I’ll be posting some photos either Sunday or Monday, so check back!

This past Saturday - May 3rd, 2008 - I was in La Crosse, WI for the wedding of Aimee & Travis. As I mentioned previously, the weather wasn’t looking the greatest. However, before the wedding ceremony started, the rain stayed away, the clouds parted, the sun came out and made for a beautiful & fun wedding for all the family & friends who were a part of the wedding.

Aimee & Travis decided not to see each other prior to the wedding, so I started with the guys first. Here we have Travis looking pretty darn sharp…

and after getting all the guy’s portraits done, we brought in the proud fathers… Travis’s dad had a little fun…

Meanwhile, the beautiful bride and bridesmaids were busy becoming even more beautiful…

Aimee’s dress was equally beautiful…

…back over on the ladies side of things, there was plenty of helping hands for Aimee…

and then it was time for their portraits to be taken. English Lutheran Church is a modern, but classy church. Here’s Aimee by one of the stained glass windows.

It was then time to wait for the ceremony to begin and everyone wanted to get a peek at Aimee…

at the same time, Travis was keeping his cool…

Despite any last minute nerves, not to mention a loved one being involved in a car accident prior to the ceremony - the wedding went on without any issues (other than Travis crossing his eyes at Aimee during the vows) and it was time to celebrate!! We headed down to Riverside Park in La Crosse, next to the Mississippi River.

We then headed to Piggy’s Restaurant, also in La Crosse, which was where Travis proposed to Aimee. Which in turn, equaled even more celebration…

Travis’s mother had many reasons to celebrate as well - she was in the car accident. She was so proud of her son and very thankful to have Aimee as a daughter. I could tell she is a wonderful woman…

I know, you’re probably wondering, “when do we get to see a “real” photo of the bride??” Well, patience is a virtue and here we have our beautiful bride, Aimee.

Like, woah… huh?!?!

We then headed to the La Crosse Center Ballroom where the reception was held. The cake matched Aimee’s dress. Very cool.

The table decorations were very nice as well…

Both fathers had moving speeches as Aimee’s dad finally got a son and Travis’s dad finally got a daughter… pretty neat…

And then the party began and I know fun was had by all. After a full day of shooting I mingled around for a little bit (I know Travis, not as long as you wanted…) but you both make an awesome couple, your families & friends were great and I can tell there will many, many more happy days in your future. I know you both have a busy few weeks, but I wanted to give you a sneak peek. I hope you enjoy as much as I enjoyed being your wedding photographer.

Congratulations, Aimee & Travis!!!

Rain, rain, go away!

I’m getting ready to head to La Crosse, WI to photograph a wedding at English Lutheran Church. It’s a little cool & cloudy outside, but the after looking at the weather - I have a feeling that we’ll be able to get some wedding photos outside after all. At least, without getting soaked!

After the wedding, we may be headed downtown for some “pre-celebration” festivities, but I’ll wait and see on that. I mean, it’s La Crosse - home of the world’s largest 6-pack!! We may go to Riverside Park by the Mississippi River, as long as the rain stays away, to get some nice outdoor wedding portraits.

Then we’ll be off the the La Crosse Center Ballroom for the reception and party the night away!

Looking forward to it, rain or shine, hot or cold - either way, check back tomorrow or Monday as I’ll give a sneak peek of the wedding photography of a fun couple and their wedding party!!
